Our holistic DESIGN

SAFETY

The system must guarantee the highest degree of safety to operators, using the most advanced and UP-TO-DATE access technology and equipment.
Access strategies must be CLEAR AND INTUITIVE and must guarantee correct ERGONOMICS.
Operators must be HIGHLY TRAINED and the safety issue must be their first concern. A robust knowledge of the use and maintenance of the safety systems and a high PERCEPTION OF RISK is the best countermeasure against falls from height.

EFFICIENCY

The system must be easy to be used by each operator singularly and by the LARGEST NUMBER OF OPERATORS SIMULTANEOUSLY (given the dimension of the building)
The SIMPLEST THE SYSTEM, the better, avoiding bulky and slow machines, privileging the use of simple devices
The ACCESS STRATEGY must be easy and clear, studying short and specific moving procedures (access points-moving paths-egress points)
The operations on the outside and inside should MINIMIZE INTERFERENCE as little as possible with the building activities

AESTHETICS

The system must be INVISIBLE to preserve the global image of lightness of the structure. The presence of awkward and bulky machines permanently installed inside and outside would certainly spoil considerably the aesthetic of the building

COST-EFFECTIVENESS

CAPITAL COSTS and RUNNING COSTS: cost of manpower, cost of maintenance of the access system, cost for running the access systems (energy costs) should be obviously limited at maximum.

Each issue is related to the others: an optimal access system can be designed only if all these aspects are considered together as part of the same problem, and solved recursively

 

The Access Strategy

HOW WE DO IT

GOAL: to design a system for to maintenance that first of all is safe and easy to use, to allow any qualified Subcontractor that will do the maintenance to operate safely, easily and efficiently

Guidelines Principles

Intuitiveness: All devices to be used and the methodologies for the progression, described in detail in the final Handbook of the Maintenance supplied at the end of the executive design. Nonetheless the system must be as intuitive as possible, so that the possibility of a mistake is minimized.

Simplicity: To avoid errors during the operations or complications that can induce the operator to incidentally or deliberately

Redundacy: Each safety device must be designed with reasonable redundancy according to the maximum number of persons contemporarly operating

KNOW-HOW: Our know-how is also based on the over 1.3 Million hours accumulated experience by our operational company (part of the Fly service holding group).The team benefits from this knowledge to design ergonomically rational systems for rope-access , delivering strategies that ensure safe ,comfortable and efficient operations.
The team of architects, engineers, rope-access and safety at work specialists has an open mind approach to find the best technological yet simple-to-use solution for each project.
The experience gained with some of the most demanding projects worldwide, working in team with architects, facade engineers and installers, allows us to produce tools and accessories ,whether permanent or temporary, with minimal impact and integrated design.

INTEGRATED APPROACH: In the past alternative approaches were simply aiming at reaching the widest possible area for cleaning only: what is unique to our approach is a new limitless capacity to reach areas and carry a full maintenance process during the building lifetime.
This new and integrated approach demonstrates efficiency by considering also local environmental conditions such as pollution, prevailing winds and their interactions with building shapes and dust deposits, when planning lifetime maintenance cycles: the outcome is a fully customized cost-saving schedule, showing the correct timing for each maintenance and cleaning operation.

OUTPUT: The output is twofold: on one side an access manual explaining step by step the procedures to deploy the operators in all areas, on the other side the handbook of maintenance demonstrating each procedure with clear instructions backed by diagrams and figures (both manual and handbook are supported by an electronic format that can be installed on any portable device)
